Today was amazing. I got to do two of my favorite things, collect bears AND talk about my work. Thank you so much for making We Care Bears your charity spotlight and for allowing to talk everyone. It was amazing and everyone was incredibly kind...

This year was the 6th Annual Finish Chelsea’s Run in 2016, in honor of Chelsea King. The event will take place in San Diego’s Balboa Park where Chelsea loved to visit and where she practiced with the San Diego Youth Symphony. Each year I participate in this run but this year I didn't. This year I was honored to be invited to participate in another way, to actually collect stuffed animals at Finish Chelsea's Run. It was such a beautiful day and I got to meet so many great people.
Thank you so much to everyone at Chelsea's Light Foundation for letting me participate in such a special event in such a great way and a special thank you to Fireman Nick who can out to help me. We collected about 300 stuffed animals that will soon be on their way to providing comfort to kids.

Most people think I'm an only child, but I'm not. I have a brother, he is 26 years old and he lives in Arizona. I love him so much, but I don't get to see him so oftern.
NOW, I have big, BIG news!! We are adopting a little name named Jentry. My mom says we are pregnant with a 6 year old.
Jentry is going to be 6 next month and she was born with a cleft lip and palate, just like me. Only, she hasn't had any surgery to fix it yet.
I think she is AMAZING. i know she is going to be scared when she gets adopted, and when she has surgery but I've been through all of that before so I know I can help her. Right now, I'm getting her room ready for her. I hope she likes pink owls. Her room is righ across from mine, so if she gets scared at night she can come to my room. I'm going to work my hardest to be a good big sister and hope she will be We Care Bears helper.
If you would like to help us bring Jentry home you can do that at; gofund.me/lovingjentry I'm really hoping we have enough money for me to go pick her up too. If not, that's OK, I'll stay home and meet where she gets here.
Happy New Year and Happy Super Bowl!!

The San Diego Gulls are hosting their first Teddy Bear Toss Night on December 18 when they take on the San Jose Barracuda. Bears collected will be donated to the San Diego Regional Law Enforcement Teddy Bear Drive which benefits Rady Children’s Hospital, and to We Care Bears. I am very excited for this opportunity to receive additional inventory and I am even more excited to offer you all a discounted ticket to the game!
Discounted tickets can be purchased at www.sandiegogulls.com/toss and if you have any questions about them, please call my friend Melissa Werman at 619-359-4716.
If you would like to purchase a bear to donate, you can purchase one for 20% OFF at any Geppetto’s by showing this blog. As a special offer, the first 500 fans in attendance who bring a bear or stuffed animal to donate will receive a Brian Setzer Orchestra Rockin’ Rudolph CD and everyone will be entered to win a number of prizes including a San Diego Gulls team signed stick!
Important things to know for the Teddy Bear Toss Game:
- Bring your donated teddy bear or stuffed animal to the game with you on Friday, December 18.
- Upon entering the arena you will wrap the bear or stuffed animal into a clear plastic bag. This keeps the item clean.
- When the Gulls score their first goal of the game throw your wrapped bear or stuffed animal on to the ice!
- Heads up!
If you have never experienced a Teddy Bear Toss Night before watch this video ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1hb2RZFZKI ) so you know what to expect.

This has not been a great week in southern California but today I was happy to be able to support the first responders who rush to our aide, who run into buildings that are on fire, or have active shooters, or bombs, they run in, to make sure we can run, or get, out.
And when they get there, when they get the kids out and back to safety, I hope that every emergency response vehicle in our nation has a bag of We Care Bears on it. Because I want kids not only to be safe, but to have a stuffed animal to hold when they are scared or injured so they FEEL SAFE too. Having a stuffed animal to huggle comforts kids who are scared or injured in a special way only kids really understand.
I NEVER EVER want another child in a situation like the event in San Bernardino, but if they are, it is my mission to ensure that they feel safe, and loved, and comforted, when a first responder hands them a teddy bear to hold on to as tightly as they possibly can.
Today, thanks to Sergeant Wyatt and everyone at Anaheim Police Department, I am 100 stuffed animals closer to that goal. Thank you so much for all of your kindness today, it was so nice to meet everyone and tour your station.
If you know a police, fire department, or other agency that would like to have We Care Bears on their vehicles let me know and I'll be happy to either deliver, or send some to them.

I AM THANKFUL - most people know me as "the bear girl" and I am proud of that, being the "bear girl" means I get to help lots of people and I am thankful for that.
I AM THANKFUL - that I am adopted. I love my family and am so happy to have a family of my own. I am also VERY happy that our family is growing and I get to be a big sister...I hope. My family has applied to adopt a little girl who has a cleft lip and palate just like me. She's 5 years old (the same age I was when I was adopted) but her lip and palate hasn't been fixed yet. I have already had 7 surgeries on my lip and palate so I know I can help her through all the things she is going to face.
I AM THANKFUL- for the first responders across the country that work selflessly to keep us safe daily, even during holidays. Today I had the pleasure to deliver 100 stuffed animals to the Orange County Sheriff's Office.
I AM THANKFUL - to the San Diego Gulls hockey team for inviting to the game tonight and naming We Care Bears as a community hero. I LOVE hockey and having the Gulls here in town is wonderful. I look forward to some fun partnerships with the Gulls this year. PLUS, they've never lost a game I've attended! Tonight's game was really close, but the Gulls held off a huge power play in the last minute of the game, it was AWESOME.
I AM THANKFUL - to all of YOU who support the We Care Bears project. I couldn't do what I do, without you. So far this year we have donated more than 2,600 stuffed animals to agencies all over the country.
My list of "thankfuls" could go on for days so I'll stop there, but encourage you to leave on comment on this post of the things that you are thankful for this year. It's always fun to hear from you.
If you would like to see We Care Bears in the hands of your local first responders please let me know by using the "contact" form of the website. My goal in 2016 is to get We Care Bears in 10 new states...let's make yours one of them!!!
Also, if you want to help "Be the Change for Jentry" you can donate at: gofundme.com/forjentry

Every once in a while you meet a person you just know is amazing. Today, I got to meet the President of OC Prost, Nancy Ecker.
Nancy, and the OC Prost, had the most amazing bear drive. I was able to make 15 bags of We Care Bears that will soon be in the hands of first responders.
Thanks so much Nancy, and everyone at in the OC Prost for such a generous donation.
If your organization is looking for a easy and fun community service project, I hope you'll consider a bear drive as well.

I want to give a big thank you to the students and teacher of Willow Grove Elementary School. Willow Grove has supported We Care Bears since our start, and this year was as amazing as ever.

WOW, what a great morning. Today I got to deliver 400 stuffed animals to CalFire. I met Dylan when he in front of Barnes and Noble for a Fill The Boot fundraiser for MDA. My friend Manny is a MDA ambassador so I wanted to donate, I also gave Dylan my card and told him about my project. He worked all the way up the chain of command and organized today's donation to CalFire.
I loved meeting everyone and they had the coolest helmet for me with my name on it!! Thanks to Dylan and everyone at CalFire. A big thanks to Brad Perry and KUSI for coming out today too.
Make A Difference Day is coming in October and I need lots and lots of new stuffed animals. If your school, office, or civic organization would to hold a bear drive or fundraiser please contact me at Jessica@wecarebears.com and I'll give you all the details to have a fun and successful campaign. You can also donate via the PayPal button on our home page.
